ECOMMIT Co., Ltd.

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (President and CEO: Kingo Hayashi; hereinafter "Chubu Electric Power") and ECOMMIT Co., Ltd. (Representative Director & CEO: Teruyuki Kawano; hereinafter "ECOMMIT") today signed an agreement (hereinafter "Agreement") on business collaboration for the realization of resource-recycling community development.

Based on Agreement, the two companies will successively launch initiatives that leverage their strengths and existing services as one of the "infrastructures supporting a resource-recycling lifestyle" in the Chubu area from March 2024.

【Outline of Initiatives based on Agreement】

1. Installation of unwanted item collection boxes of PASSTO, a resource recycling service provided by ECOMMIT, at Chubu Electric Power Group-related facilities, and proposal for people in Chubu area

Chubu Electric Power will install unwanted item collection boxes of PASSTO, a resource recycling service provided by ECOMMIT, at PR facilities and commercial facilities owned by Chubu Electric Power Group to collect unwanted clothing and general goods for reuse and recycling.
We will also utilize the Group's ties to the local community by proposing the introduction of PASSTO to companies and other entities in the Chubu area, thereby expanding the circle of our initiatives.

2. Collection of unwanted items from members of "TSUNAGU table" operated by Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Connect

Utilizing connections with customers of "TSUNAGU table" food EC service, we will collect their unwanted clothing and general goods so that these items can be reused and recycled together with unwanted items collected by PASSTO.

3. Proposal for Reused Item Collection Service for Municipalities in Chubu Area

For municipalities in the Chubu area, we propose a scheme to sort and reuse reusable items from unwanted items collected by the municipalities.

In each initiative, the status of collection, sorting, and redistribution is tracked and visualized by data using ECOMMIT's traceability system, providing a high recycling rate framework with high transparency.

Chubu Electric Power and ECOMMIT will also work with various partners to expand initiatives to return waste to raw materials and to manufacturing industries to realize resource-recycling community development in the Chubu area. Our future goal is to develop the realized recycling model overseas and create a mechanism for international resource circulation.
