Press Release
Launch of initiatives for saving energy and revitalizing the community in Iida City by introducing demand response
June 20, 2025
Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
Chubu Electric Power submitted a joint proposal with Iida City (Mayor: Takeshi Sato) for "the urban planning that connects people and communities with a regional microgrid utilizing existing power distribution systems." The Ministry of the Environment selected this proposal as a Second Round Decarbonization Leading Area (Note 1). (Press release issued on November 1, 2022)
Based on this joint proposal, we and Iida City will be working together to revitalize the region by using Fukumarukun Points, which can be used in the Shimoina area, including Iida City, in Nagano Prefecture. From July 1 to November 30, we'll be doing this through a project (referred to as "this project") that uses NACHARGE (Note 2), a demand response service for households provided by Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co., Inc.
In this project, residents of Iida City who register and sign up for Fukumarukun, KatEne, and NACHARGE, and then apply to participate in this project, will be awarded KatEne Points and up to 2,300 Fukumarukun Points based on their demand response performance.
Through this project, Chubu Electric Power aims to contribute to a decarbonized society and revitalize the local community in Iida City by promoting demand response initiatives.
(Note 1) Decarbonization Leading Area is the region that aims to achieve virtually zero carbon dioxide emissions by FY2030, based on regional characteristics, in order to become carbon neutral by 2050. The Ministry of the Environment has now selected 88 proposals from across the country.
(Note 2) A service that rewards customers with KatEne Points based on their participation in demand response measures, such as energy conservation and changes in electricity usage times, in accordance with the status of renewable energy power generation and electricity supply and demand.
