Receipt of a Request for an Additional Report from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Pursuant to Article 70, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Implementation of Reprocessing of Spent Nuclear Fuel in Nuclear Power Generation and the Promotion of Decommissioning

Regarding the inappropriate matter (hereinafter "this matter") concerning the implementation reports and cost claims submitted to the Spent Fuel Reprocessing and Decommissioning Promotion Organization in connection with the dismantling and removal work for Units 1 and 2 of the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant, on August 27, 2026, received a request for a report from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry pursuant to the provisions of Article 70, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Implementation of Reprocessing of Spent Nuclear Fuel in Nuclear Power Generation and the Promotion of Decommissioning, and today submitted a report regarding the facts known at this time (Press release issued on September 25, 2026).

We hereby announce that today, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, noting that investigations into the contents of the aforementioned report are still ongoing, requested an additional report from us regarding the items listed below, pursuant to the provisions of Article 70, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Implementation of Reprocessing, etc., of Spent Nuclear Fuel in Nuclear Power Generation and the Promotion of Decommissioning.

We sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience this matter has caused to local residents and all stakeholders.

We will respond appropriately to this request for additional information.
