Report to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Regarding Inappropriate Practices in Implementation Reports and Cost Claims for the Decommissioning and Demolition of Units 1 and 2 at the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant, and Report on Instructions from the Spent Fuel Reprocessing and Decommissioning Promotion Organization

On August 27, 2026, the Company received a request for a report from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry regarding an inappropriate matter (hereinafter "this matter") concerning implementation reports and cost claims submitted to the Spent Fuel Reprocessing and Decommissioning Promotion Organization in connection with the decommissioning and removal work for Units 1 and 2 of the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant, pursuant to the provisions of Article 70, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Implementation of Spent Fuel Reprocessing, etc., in Nuclear Power Generation and the Promotion of Decommissioning (Press release issued on August 27, 2026).

Furthermore, on the same day, we received a reporting instruction regarding this matter from the Spent Fuel Reprocessing and Decommissioning Promotion Organization pursuant to the aforementioned Act (Press release issued on August 27, 2026).

We hereby issue a press release stating that today we submitted reports in response to the request for a report from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and the directive from the Spent Fuel Reprocessing and Decommissioning Promotion Organization.

Accurate and detailed verification work remains necessary to fully clarify the circumstances of this incident, and as it is expected to take some time to complete the investigation, the information we can report at this time is limited.

We will continue to verify the facts surrounding this incident, investigate its causes, consider measures to prevent recurrence, and investigate similar incidents, and we will report the results to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Spent Fuel Reprocessing and Decommissioning Promotion Organization at a later date.
