Use of Electronic Paper in Events Held with Toyota City

October 23, 2017
Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

We hereby announce that Chubu Electric Power will use electronic paper (Note) in events "walk rally" and "bingo treasure" (hereinafter referred to as "the events") to take place in the "1st Toyota Walking ‘WE LOVE Toyota Walking'" (host: Toyota City and Chubu Electric Power) to be held on November 25 and 26.

Chubu Electric Power, demonstrating high-level application of telegraph poles using ICT equipment, has placed electronic paper on telegraph poles built in public space and is testing distribution of information that is useful to local people in Toyota City. (Announced on June 20, 2017)

For the events, a new mechanism that changes displayed information on electronic paper by operating the app downloaded onto the smartphone was introduced by linking electronic paper and radio wave transmitter. Necessary keywords for the events will be displayed using this mechanism, and participants will get a first-hand experience of electronic paper.

By gathering voices of customers who participated in the events, Chubu Electric Power will grasp technical and operational issues of electronic paper, and utilize such voices to develop new information distribution services such as distributing information, for example, event information and complimentary information to passersby in a timely manner and providing information that supports promoting health to walkers and runners in a fun way.

Chubu Electric Power will offer new services that exceed expectations of customers as a general energy service company group that goes ahead of others.
