Participation In Comprehensive Disaster Management Drill Sponsored By Shizuoka Prefecture

On September 2, 2012, we participated in practical training in the context of a comprehensive Disaster Management Drill organized by Shizuoka Prefecture at Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport.

The drill was based on the assumption that a major earthquake extending from the Suruga Trough to the Nankai Trough had caused severe damage throughout Shizuoka Prefecture. Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport was used as the area disaster management hub, and about 400 personnel from the Prefectural Government, Police, Fire Department, Self Defence Force stationed in Japan, US Armed Forces, utility companies, etc. participated.

In conjunction with the above drill, a training drill including the use of portable pumps as an alternative water injection system was conducted at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station.
