Yokkaichi Biomass Power Plant Commences Commercial Operation

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. is pleased to announce that today the Yokkaichi Biomass Power Plant, on which construction began in May 2018, commenced commercial operation.

The Yokkaichi Biomass Power Plant is the company's first dedicated woody biomass-fired power plant with an output of 49,000 kW.

We would like to express our sincerest appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of local residents and everyone involved, thereby making it possible to construct the Yokkaichi Biomass Power Plant.

Chubu Electric Power will continue to actively develop renewables, which are one of the company's main power sources, in moving toward raising the level of energy self-sufficiency as well as realizing a low carbon society.
