Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. has invested in SBI 4&5 Limited Liability Investment Partnership B1 ("Fund") established and managed by SBI Investment Co., Ltd.
The Fund invests in promising non-listed companies both in Japan and other countries that possess technology and/or services expected to drive innovation in IoT and robotics that promote Industry 4.0 as well as healthcare, infrastructure, food products, agriculture and other areas that realize Society 5.0.
Through the Fund, Chubu Electric Power will accelerate collaboration with prospective startups both inside and outside Japan to facilitate cutting-edge technology initiatives as well as the service creation, thereby furthering the "provision of a new community" as touted in the "Chubu Electric Power Group Management Vision."
This investment is financed by Chubu Electric Power Community Support Fund, an internal corporate venture capital fund established in April 2019 to swiftly invest in startups with advanced technology or revolutionary business models as well as other venture capital funds.
