Chubu Electric Power and Ubie Agree to a Business Alliance for Collaboration in the Medical and Healthcare Area ~ Aiming to Create a New Service that Provides Everything from Symptom Checks and Medical Institution Search to Diagnosis and Test Results in an Integrated Manner without Barriers ~

Today, Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (President & Director: Kingo Hayashi; "Chubu Electric Power") and Ubie, Inc. (Co-founder & CEO: Yoshinari Abe and Kota Kubo; "Ubie") agreed to a business alliance for collaboration in the medical and healthcare area. Chubu Electric Power subscribed to a portion of Ubie’s allocation of new shares to a third party and acquired Ubie’s shares.

Chubu Electric Power has developed and deployed a new healthcare service that connects medical institutions and patients in real time by providing online diagnosis tools and connecting test results from medical institutions to individuals, through its subsidiary Medical Data Card, Inc. (CEO: Yasuyuki Suzuki; "MeDaCa")

Ubie offers a symptom search engine, "Ubie," where users can search nearby medical institutions from medical institutions nationwide according to the relevant disease name just by answering questions generated by AI and checking symptoms. It is currently used by 5 million people every month. For medical institutions, Ubie offers "Ubie Link" which is a service that enables checking patient questionnaire responses in advance. It is introduced at approx. 15,000 medical institutions nationwide.

Chubu Electric Power and Ubie aim to pair their respective initiatives to develop a system that enables checking symptoms and searching medical institutions, sharing results of medical interviews in advance, conducting diagnosis and tests, and sharing the test results with patients through the app, in an integrated manner without barriers.
In FY2023, we will strive to realize the following to deliver new values that make the lifestyle of our customers more "convenient" and "safe and secure".

• Evolution into a more reliable service tailored to the symptoms of each and every individual by combining diagnosis data of Ubie, test result data of MeDaCa, and vital data, such as body weight and blood pressure, owned by Chubu Electric Power（Note） and further improving functionality
• Linkage with services provided by the Chubu Electric Power Group such as "Kizuna Net" and "KatEne"

Chubu Electric Power and Ubie will strive to realize sustainable growth with our customers and the society by developing initiatives in the medical and healthcare area to a greater extent and by providing services that attend to each and every customer to make their lives more convenient and affluent.
