Received Guidance on Forgery in Application Documents for Approval under Act on Special Measures Concerning Promotion of Utilization of Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources by METI

Chubu Electric Power today received Guidance on reporting the existence of forgery or falsehood in documents submitted in application for approval under the Act on Special Measures Concerning Promotion of Utilization of Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Outline of Guidance

1. Whether or not there is any forgery or falsehood in all documents submitted, including both those in process and those submitted subsequently in the application for approval.
2. If forgery or falsehood exists in 1, the facts leading to the existence of such forgery or falsehood, the causes thereof, and measures to prevent recurrence
3. To be reported by August 30, 2024

It has been discovered that an employee of Chubu Electric Power forged a land lease agreement, which is a part of the application documents required for FIT approval, at Wada Hydroelectric Power Station ("the incident"). (notified on the same date)

We take the incident very seriously as inappropriate handling in violation of laws and regulations, and apologize for the inconvenience and concern it has caused to our customers and all other concerned parties.

We take the guidance seriously and will respond appropriately to the guidance.
