Phase 1 of Omaezaki Wind Power Station Commences Operation

Positioning responses to global environmental issues as one of its most important corporate agendas, Chubu Electric is pushing ahead with development of the Omaezaki Wind Power Station in Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the company's first commercial wind power facility.
Today, the construction of Phase 1 of the Omaezaki Wind Power Station was completed, and three wind turbines were put into commercial operation.
The operation of these three wind turbines is expected to reduce annual CO2 emissions by approximately 7,700 metric tons.
Work on Phase 2 of the Omaezaki facility is proceeding. Eight wind turbines are under construction, with commencement of operation scheduled for November this year.
We will continue to implement wind power, solar power, and other alternative energy sources as we actively seek solutions to global environmental issues.
