Notice on Petition for Inspection of Imported MOX Fuel Assemblies to be Used at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station, Reactor No. 4 (for second production)

This is to announce that as of today, prior to start of production of the uranium-plutonium mixed oxide (MOX) fuel to be used at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station, Reactor No. 4, we filed a petition for inspection of imported fuel assemblies(*) with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), in keeping with the Electric Utility Law, Article 51-3.

  • Production plant of MOX fuel (location): MELOX plant (France)
  • Number of assemblies petitioned for inspection: 60 rods (for second production at the plant)

Chubu Electric will continue to take every measure for quality assurance relating to the procurement of MOX fuel as we steadily advance the pluthermal plan.

* Petition for inspection of imported MOX fuel assemblies must be carried out by one month in advance of start of fuel production.
