Chubu Electric receives Notification of Successful Completion of Imported Fuel Assembly Inspection of MOX Fuel for Use in Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station Reactor No. 4

Twenty-eight MOX fuel assemblies for use in Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station Reactor No. 4, in relation to which Chubu Electric applied for imported fuel assembly inspection on March 04, 2008, received an external inspection from May 19 to 21, 2010. This inspection is the final procedure in the imported fuel assembly inspection* conducted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on the basis of Item 3, Article 51 of the Electricity Business Act.
Chubu Electric today received notification of successful completion of the imported fuel assembly inspection from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Looking towards the implementation of pluthermal generation, Chubu Electric will continue to work to ensure safe and stable operation and transparent management of its generation facilities, while striving to achieve the understanding of all stakeholders, in particular the residents of the local area.

* The imported fuel assembly inspection involves a check of the records of the company's quality assurance activities, and an external inspection of the fuel assemblies, and is conducted by the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
