Phase 2 of Omaezaki Wind Power Station Commences Operation

Chubu Electric Power today began commercial operation of eight turbines at the Omaezaki Wind Power Station (Phase 2), which has been under construction in Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Phase 2 has an output of 16,000 kW, and the start of operation is forecast to reduce CO2 emissions by about 21,000 tons annually.
In addition, if the three turbines that had previously begun commercial operation in Phase 1 are included, the Omaezaki Wind Power Station's 11 turbines have an output of 22,000 kW and are expected to reduce CO2 emissions by about 29,000 tons annually.
Chubu Electric Power considers initiatives for solving global environmental problems to be among our most important management issues, and we are taking a number of such initiatives. We will continue to work steadily to implement energies like wind and solar that emit little CO2 as we work actively to achieve a low carbon society.
