Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

This is to inform you that Chubu Electric Power has formulated a "FY2011 Electric Power Supply Plan" that was filed with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry today.

A power supply plan is filed by a power utility in accordance with the provisions of the Electricity Utilities Industry Law. It sets forth the plan for supplying electric power for the coming 10-year period together with plans for the installation and operation of electrical facilities during that time.

The following is an overview of the power supply plan we just filed.

1. Projected demand

The plan for electric energy sold anticipates a mean annual increase of 1.2% (from FY2009 to FY2020, corrected for temperature and leap year) and gradual but solid growth.

2. Main Power Generation Facilities Plan

Major changes from the previous fiscal year plan include development of the Nishi-Nagoya Thermal Power Station Group No. 7, which is a combined cycle power generation facility at the highest level of efficiency known in the world so far, and of Mega Solar Shimizu, which is the largest photovoltaic power generation facility in the Chubu Electric Power service area. We also have new plans for development at two locations of small hydropower stations that make effective use of river maintenance flow.

3. Demand and Supply Planning

As to electric power supply and demand, the start of operation by the Joetsu Thermal Power Station and the Nishi-Nagoya Thermal Power Station Group No. 7, among other factors, will secure our supply capability. We will therefore be providing electricity in a stable manner.
