Regarding Submission of Written Request to Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Concerning Suspension of Operations at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station

This is to announce that Chubu Electric Power today submitted a written request to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry that sums up our requests to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry concerning the suspension of operations at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station.
In response to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry's request to suspend operations at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station, Chubu Electric Power has decided to suspend operations at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station, Reactors No. 4 and 5 and to postpone the resumption of operations of the currently idle Reactor No. 3 on the condition that the confirmation items relating to the request to suspend operations are fulfilled. In turn, we received a firm promise that we would receive the Minister's utmost support for our confirmation items.
Since making our decision to suspend operations at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station, we have repeatedly examined the content of our specific support requests to the national government. We ask the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for their consideration and support so that the request items we listed will be reliably implemented in future.
