Overview of Spent Fuel Transportation

Chubu Electric has shipped spent nuclear fuel from its Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station to a spent fuel receiving and storage facility of Japan Nuclear Fuel Limited based on a reprocessing contract with that company.

About the recently shipped spent fuel

The 50 spent fuel assemblies recently shipped include the fuel type "high combustion 8×8 fuel" used at Hamaoka No. 3 between March 1999 and June 2009.
