FY2011 Second Half Electric Power Sales Results

The result for volume of electric power sold was on par with the figure for the previous fiscal year at 64,704 GWh, a 0.2% YoY decline.

1   Demand for electricity other than extra high-voltage power services (i.e., general residential consumption): Down 2.1% YoY  

(1) Lighting services (residential customers)
The number of days in the metering period increased due to the leap year, but sales declined 2.0% YoY due to factors including power-saving measures.

(2) Power services (shop and small factory customers)
The number of days in the metering period increased due to the leap year, but sales declined against the previous year, displaying a 2.9% YoY decline due to factors including a reduction in the number of contracts.

2   Demand for extra high-voltage power services: Up 0.8% YoY

(1) Commercial (office building and commercial facility customers)
The number of days in the metering period increased due to the leap year, but sales declined by 3.9% YoY due to factors including power-saving measures.

(2) Industrial and other (medium and large factory customers)
Sales exceeded figures for the previous year, displaying a 2.6% YoY increase due to factors including increased automobile-related production and an increase in the number of days in the metering period due to the leap year.
