Conclusion of Contract for Sale of LNG to INPEX

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. ("Chubu Electric") concluded a contract with INPEX CORPORATION for the sale of liquefied natural gas (LNG) today.

This contract is to sell a certain portion of LNG Chubu Electric purchases to INPEX's Naoetsu LNG Terminal for approximately five years. The LNG sold will be from Chubu Electric's portfolio which does not specify supply sources beforehand.

Chubu Electric will supply LNG needed for the early stage operation of Naoetsu LNG Terminal through this agreement. At the same time, Chubu Electric expects more synergetic effect of increasing flexibility for terminal operations between Naoetsu LNG Terminal and adjoining our Joetsu Thermal Power Station  through the whole duration of this agreement.

Chubu Electric has been keen on increasing flexibility of LNG contract such as relaxation of destination restriction, or building network among LNG Buyers. Through such efforts, Chubu Electric will continue to enhance its fuel procurement ability in terms of security of supply, flexibility and economic efficiency to keep a stable and inexpensive flow of power
