Completion of work of the 275 kV Suruga Higashi-Shimizu line and the Higashi-Shimizu transformer substation

November 18, 2013
Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

Chubu Electric Power has been engaged in the construction of the 275 kV Suruga Higashi-Shimizu line and the Higashi-Shimizu transformer substation in order to ensure a stable supply of power. This is to announce that work on the line was completed on November 02, 2013, and work on the station was completed yesterday, on November 17.

We believe that the completion of a series of construction projects, including the commencement of operation of a 300 MW frequency conversion facility in February this year, will increase the stability of power supply to Shizuoka, and that the stability of supply will be increased more generally by wide-area mutual support between areas using different frequencies (50 Hz and 60 Hz).

Chubu Electric is deeply grateful to our customer, and to everyone whose understanding and support has enabled us to complete these works.

Chubu Electric will continue to focus efforts on the inspection and maintenance of its transmission and transformation facilities in order to ensure a stable supply of power.
