Establishment of "Hitachinaka Generation Co., Inc."

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (President and CEO Akihisa Mizuno; "Chubu Electric Power") and Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (President: Naomi Hirose; "TEPCO") today established Hitachinaka Generation Co., Inc., an electric power business that will operate and maintain a new coal-fired thermal facility to be built within TEPCO's Hitachinaka Thermal Power Station (located in Tokai-mura, Naka District, Ibaraki Prefecture) and will also sell the power generated by the facility.

Hitachinaka Generation Co., Inc. looks forward to planning and promoting its electric power business with the understanding and support of the local community and all concerned.
