FY2013 Second Half Electric Power Sales Results

The volume of electric power sold reached 64,279 GWh, a gain of 1.7% YoY.
1 Demand for electricity other than extra high-voltage power services (i.e., general residential consumption): Down 0.3% YoY
(1) Lighting services (residential customers)
Although there was an increase in the number of service agreements, the weather this winter was warmer than the year before, leading to less use of climate control equipment. Owing to this and other factors, sales dropped 0.2% YoY, remaining around the same level as the previous year.
(2) Power services (shop and small factory customers)
Sales dropped 1.1% YoY as a result of a declining number of service agreements and other factors.
2 Demand for extra high-voltage power services: Up 2.8% YoY
(1) Commercial (office building and commercial facility customers)
Sales decreased 0.2% YoY as the same volume .
(2) Industrial and other (medium and large factory customers)
Sales increased 3.9% YoY as a result of increased production of steel and machinery and other factors.
