May 15, 2014
Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

This is to announce that Chubu Electric Power has begun commercial operation today of Joetsu Thermal Power Station Unit 2-2.

With this, Joetsu Thermal Power Station has begun commercial operation of for all four Units, from 1-1 through 2-2, marking the start of general operations.

Furthermore, in response to the rise in vibrations on the steam turbine bearing section of Unit 1-1 that occurred on April 09, 2013, the rated output of each unit will tentatively be 575,680kW due to the installation of pressure plates.

We are grateful for the understanding and cooperation of local residents and other local parties concerned with regard to the construction work on the Joetsu Thermal Power Station.

Chubu Electric Power will continue to strive to ensure the stable supply of low-carbon, high quality energy at reasonable prices.
