FY2015 Electric Power Sales Results

The volume of electric power sold reached 121,967 GWh, a decline of 1.7% YoY. 

1 Demand for electricity other than extra high-voltage power services (i.e., general residential consumption): Down 3.3% YoY

(1) Lighting services (residential customers)

This winter was warmer than the year before, thereby leading to less use of heating equipment. Owing to both this and energy conservation efforts, sales dropped 3.1% YoY.

(2) Power services (shop and small factory customers)

Sales dropped 4.4% YoY as a result of a decline in contract demand and the temperature leading to less use of heating equipment.

2 Demand for extra high-voltage power services: Down 0.9% YoY

(1) Commercial (office building and commercial facility customers)

Sales dropped 1.5% YoY as a result of a decline in the temperature leading to less use of heating equipment

(2) Industrial and other (medium and large factory customers)

Due to decreased automobile production, sales were down 0.8% YoY.
