Mega Solar Kawagoe Partially Starts Operations

Chubu Electric Power is proud to announce that voluntary pre-service inspections for Mega Solar Kawagoe's 2,750 kW out of its 7,500 kW power generation equipment have today completed and started operations. Construction of the plant has been underway on the sites of Kawagoe Thermal Power Plant.In conjunction with the development of Taketoyo Thermal Power Plant Unit 5, Chubu Electric Power decided to transfer Mega Solar Taketoyo's power generation equipment to the grounds of Kawagoe Thermal Power Plant. The plant will be renamed as "Mega Solar Kawagoe" after the transfer, and is to start operating in May 2017.

Constructions started from October 2015, and transfers for power production equipment has been undergoing since June 2016.

Chubu Electric Power will pursue the relocation work to meet its goal of launching a 7,500 kW-output operation in May 2017.

With the understanding and cooperation from relevant parties and the local community, Chubu Electric Power will continue to carry forward the construction and make effort to work safely.
