Construction Starts for Shin-Okuizumi Hydroelectric Power Station

Chubu Electric Power would like to announce that it submitted to Shizuoka Prefecture and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism a River Act-based notification on starting new constructions of the Shin-Okuizumi Hydroelectric Power Station. The work has begun today.

Shin-Okuizumi Hydroelectric Power Station is a regular water-flow release hydroelectric power station scheduled to be erected directly below Chubu Electric Power's Okuizumi Dam. To maintain the river environment, the station effectively utilizes the dam head and released water.

Its maximum output is 290 kW, and is planned to start operating in March 2018.

With continued understanding and cooperation of local residents and other parties concerned, Chubu Electric Power will proceed with the construction in a safety-first manner.
