July 31, 2018
Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

Today, Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (Headquarters: Higashi-ku, Nagoya City; President & Director: Satoru Katsuno) and Chubu Gas Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture; President & Director: Hiroshi Torii), a core enterprise in the Sala Group, concluded a joint venture agreement to establish a new company, "CS Energy Service Co., Ltd ." (hereafter referred to as "the new company") , that will be selling gas and electricity to corporate customers in the Higashi Mikawa region in Aichi Prefecture, the Seien region in Shizuoka Prefecture and beyond (hereafter referred to as "the said area"). The new company is scheduled to be established in October 2018, and sales will begin as necessary preparations are made.

As a large proportion of the customers in the said area use heavy oil and LP gas as heat sources, the new company will be targeting customers who are switching to natural gas.

The new company will fully harness the business bases and management resources that both companies have been fostering in the said area to provide competitive gas and electricity bundled plans based on a framework of safety and stable supply. By doing so, the new company will strive to accelerate the spread of natural gas in the said area and live up to the trust and expectations of the region. Chubu Electric Power and Chubu Gas will continue to explore opportunities to further ties in providing our customers with more valuable services.
