October 04, 2018
Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. will start the demonstration of "Ouchi Connect ", a service that enables customers to check their homes remotely including their home electricity usage, room temperature and live footage from inside the home, in the first half of this month.

"Ouchi Connect" is an IoT service for home-use developed using the IoT platform "necolico Home +" provided by necolico LLC (note) (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Partner & Function Manager: Katsuyuki Sasaki).

The customer will install environment sensors, cameras, and an IoT gateway that collects data from such devices in their home to learn in real time the electricity information via the smart meter, the room temperature and humidity, as well as look at live footage of their homes through LINE.

This service, which allows customers to access the state of the homes anytime anywhere, can be used in multiple ways, from saving energy, watching out for a child or a pet, or for security purposes.

The "Ouchi Connect" service will be able to be linked up with the "Cocoremo " service, which was launched to in July. This will allow customers to remotely operate air-conditioning and other home appliances through LINE.

The service also comes with a function where a picture of a meal sent through LINE will return the number of calories contained in the meal which can be used to manage the customer's health.

By actually using "Ouchi Connect" in this demonstration, we hope to verify the performance of the communication technology and user friendliness of the service in preparation for the full-scale launch of the service.

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. will continue to develop services to provide our customers with a more comfortable, convenient and secure experience through the brand "KatEne Connect", Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.'s umbrella brand for services that enhance customers' lives through IoT, AI and other advanced technologies.
