Investigation results and recurrence prevention measures on forgery of FIT approval documents

At Wada Hydroelectric Power Station of Chubu Electric Power, it was discovered that an employee of the company forged a land lease agreement, which is a part of the application documents required for FIT approval. (Press release issued on August 2, 2024)
We have been working to determine the cause of the above incident, to investigate the existence or non-existence of forgery in all FIT approval applications, including those in process, and to formulate measures to prevent recurrence. Today, we hereby announce that the results of the investigation and measures to prevent recurrence have been compiled.

In addition, from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on August 2, 2024, Chubu Electric Power received Guidance on reporting the existence of forgery or falsehood in documents submitted in application for approval under the Act on Special Measures Concerning Promotion of Utilization of Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources (notified on the same date). Based on the guidance, the report was submitted to the Agency today.

We take the incident very seriously as inappropriate handling in violation of laws and regulations, and apologize for the inconvenience and concern it has caused to our customers and all other concerned parties.

Chubu Electric Power will continue to take thorough measures to prevent recurrence.
