Report Submitted in Response to a Request for Information from the Nuclear Regulation Authority Pursuant to Article 67, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Regulation of Nuclear Source Materials, Nuclear Fuel Materials, and Reactors

The Company received a request from the Nuclear Regulation Authority regarding the "Regarding Inappropriate Practices in the Formulation of Design Basis Earthquake Motion during the Review of Compliance with New Regulatory Standards at the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant" (hereinafter referred to as "this matter"), and in order to conduct a detailed investigation into the facts and causes of this matter, we have received a request for a report pursuant to the provisions of Article 67, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Regulation of Nuclear Source Material, Nuclear Fuel Material, and Reactors. Furthermore, the Company submitted a report to the Nuclear Regulation Authority regarding matters that could be confirmed and reported as facts as of March 31, 2026, in response to the request for a report. (Press release issued on March 31, 2026)

Although we had previously received the investigation report from the investigation committee as required by the request for a report (press release issued on September 11, 2026), we hereby announce that today we have completed the partial redaction necessary to mitigate the impact on those involved in the incident under investigation and to protect individual privacy, and have reported the contents to the Nuclear Regulation Authority.

Please note that regarding the direct and root causes of this incident—which were part of the request for a report—we will conduct further analysis and report on them at a later date. Furthermore, regarding the facts and circumstances of this incident, we will conduct additional investigations as necessary, based on the results of the root cause analysis and the review of countermeasures to be conducted in the future, and will report on them at a later date.

We will continue to respond sincerely to the nuclear regulatory inspections conducted by the Nuclear Regulation Authority, in accordance with the Commission's guidance and instructions.
