Changes to Peak Load Supply and Demand Plan for Summer FY2011

July 26, 2011
Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc.

This release is a notification of changes to the Peak Load Supply and Demand Plan for Summer FY2011, first announced on June 28.

In response to the severe supply and demand conditions prevailing this summer, in order to maintain a stable supply of electricity, Chubu Electric will resume operations at thermal power stations originally scheduled for long-term shutdown and will modify periodic inspection times of thermal power stations, among other measures.

At this time, regarding the Chita Daini Thermal Power Station, Unit No. 2 Gas Turbine, since it has become possible to obtain the necessary parts earlier than expected, operations are anticipated to resume on Aug. 2 this year, rather than from January 2012.

In addition, the Taketoyo Thermal Power Station, Unit No. 2 had been scheduled to restart in the latter part of July; that date was confirmed as July 31.

The effects of these changes on the Peak Load Supply and Demand Plan are detailed in the attachment to this announcement.

At Chubu Electric Power, we will continue to take all measures possible to ensure stable supply, including steadily implementing priority inspection and maintenance operations for our generating facilities and the related transmission and conversion equipment.
