FY2012 First-half Electric Power Sales Results

The volume of electric power sold reached 63,346 GWh, an increase of just 0.2% YoY.
1 Demand for electricity other than extra high-voltage power services : Down 3.1% YoY
(1) Lighting services (residential customers)
Sales dropped 2.8% YoY as a result of power-saving efforts and other factors.
(2) Power services (shop and small factory customers)
Sales dropped 4.9% YoY as a result of a declining number of service agreements and other factors.
2 Demand for extra high-voltage power services: Up 1.8% YoY
(1) Commercial (office building and commercial facility customers)
Sales increased slightly by 0.1% YoY.
(2) Industrial and other (medium and large factory customers)
Factors such as an increase in motor vehicle-related production resulted in a 2.4% increase in sales volume YoY.
