Start of Construction for the "Shin-Kuhshihara Hydroelectric Power Station"

Chubu Electric Power would like to announce that we submitted a starting notification for the new construction of "Shin-Kushihara Hydroelectric Power Station", based on the River Act , to Gifu Prefecture and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The work has begun today.

Shin-Kushihara Hydroelectric Power Station is a regular water flow release hydroelectric power station effectively using water release in order to maintain the dam head drop and riverine environment. It is scheduled for construction directly below Yahagi No.2 Dam, which is owned by Chubu Electric Power.

Maximum output is 220kW, and operation is planned to begin in June, 2015.

We shall be grateful for the understanding and cooperation of local residents and other parties concerned as we proceed with the construction regarding safety as the top priority.
