Start of Construction for the "Atagi Hydroelectric Power Station"

Chubu Electric Power would like to announce that we submitted a starting notification for the new construction of "Atagi Hydroelectric Power Station", based on the River Act , to Gifu Prefecture. The work has begun today.
Atagi Hydroelectric Power Station is a regular water flow release hydroelectric power station effectively using water release in order to maintain the dam head drop and riverine environment. It is scheduled for construction directly below the prefectural dams at Atagi in Gifu Prefecture.

Maximum output is 190kW, and operation is planned to begin in June, 2015.
We shall be grateful for the understanding and cooperation of Gifu Prefecture, local residents and other parties concerned as we proceed with the construction regarding safety as the top priority.
