Start of Construction for the "Nyukawa Hydroelectric Power Station"

Chubu Electric Power would like to announce that we submitted a starting notification for the new construction of "Nyukawa Hydroelectric Power Station", based on the River Act , to Gifu Prefecture. The work has begun today.
Nyukawa Hydroelectric Power Station is a regular water-flow release hydroelectric power station scheduled for construction directly below the Nyukawa Dam owned by Gifu Prefecture and Takayama City. The dam effectively utilizes dam head and released water in order to maintain the river environment.(Notification complete as of November 27, 2012)
Maximum output is 350kW, and operation is planned to begin in June, 2016.
We shall be grateful for the understanding and cooperation of Gifu Prefecture and Takayama City, local residents and other parties concerned as we proceed with the construction regarding safety as the top priority.
